Most people think that marketing is only about the advertising and/or personal selling of goods and services. Advertising and selling, however, are just two of the many marketing activities.

In general, marketing activities are all those associated with identifying the particular wants and needs of a target market of customers, and then going about satisfying those customers better than the competitors. This involves doing market research on customers, analyzing their needs, and then making strategic decisions about product design, pricing, promotion and distribution.

At present I am a trainer within the Mamba Organisation and have been with Mamba since the very beginning. Wanting to develop my confidence and self belief I felt that Mamba would give me the challenges and opportunities I had been seeking.

In my early weeks with Mamba I was averaging between £250 - £350 per week and having brilliant customer services I earnt myself an extra bonus of between £300 - £500 per month.

The skills I have gained have been outstanding. Developing skills within sales / customer service but also learning how to train and develop other individuals to a high standard. I have also developed skills within the Administration and Recruitment side of the business and have had the opportunity to travel to meetings/conferences throughout the UK to places like Manchester, Leeds, Blackpool and London on many occasions. I was also given the opportunity recently to attend a 4 day team building trip to Marbella, Spain, where we stayed in a luxury villa which was a fantastic experience.

I am always given praise for being an individual that always keeps our amazing clients like British Red Cross or Quarriers - to name but a few, at the forefront of my mind in everything I do, it's great to be a part of a company that recognises those that put in the extra effort.

Before I joined Mamba I had been working within the Hospitality Industry for 8 years and hadn't progressed or learnt many new skills. I had completed a HND in Hospitality Management at College and then went on to Graduate from Paisley University with a BA Business Management Degree in Marketing.

In joining Mamba I quickly realised that the opportunity to progress through the Business Development Programme was huge and that I would not get the opportunity to progress that far in other Industries. Especially as I had a lack of experience. Working with everyone at Mamba has been an amazing journey which has opened many new windows of opportunity for me and I realise by having determination and by working hard to progress further I will achieve my goals.
